She doesn't clearly state who the abuser is in the beginning. The chair squeaks! The different angle was nice, I'd have liked to see it more. I would fade to black while she's talking during the end statement. It's a very touchy subject and I respect her a lot for speaking out.
Very moving and touching at the end. From a technical standpoint, there seem to be a few hiccups in the camera flow. More b-roll might be nice to switch it up visually, especially in the middle section. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I think the color should have happened gradually rather than instantaneously.
The video was really good and the close up shots fit the video definitely. I would recommended to add some transitions to not see the cuts of the video. But overall it was a really good video and the strong topic.
Very sad story. My heart goes out to her. As far as the video.. the cuts between shots were a bit rough and a bit lacking in extra footage. I really liked the cuts to her hands fidgeting in her lap.
The story had a good flow to it. The framing of the subject and the jump cuts to her hands were a nice touch. I wish there was more B- roll footage. Even though it seems like it may have been a hard subject to capture visually in B-roll. it just stayed on the interview subject for very long periods of time. Good job.
I feel as if your interviewee was very passionate about the subject matter presented however, I feel morally obligated to mention, that at times this appears incredibly hard for her to talk about her particular issue. At times the voice and recording is inconsistent in its volume level. However the simplicity is a thing of beauty
I think the information, the interview questions and answers in this video were spot on. Justin, your wife was very brave to speak out about this. She did great and I think you all had an inspiring idea.
Beautifully done. The simplicity was powerful.

ReplyDeletegreat interview and great job with the camera getting different shots of the subject.
ReplyDeleteThe editing was a little awkward sometimes but overall worked out.
